Mailbox campaign for journalists in jail

From 2020 onward Ingrid Svanfeldt has been involved in several projects relating to Belarus. It all started with an online-meeting in solidarity with Belarusian journalists who faced severe repressions from the Belarusian regime after the fraudulent presidential election in August 2020. 

The solidarity meeting continued once a week for more than 5 years until February 2026 when finally the journalists involved in the meeting had been released after 3 years in prison. The solidarity meetings inspired Ingrid Svanfeldt to produce a mobile game and a live role play about the lives of the Belarusian journalists who had become her friends. 

She has also produced a mail box wall where visitors could send cards to imprisoned journalists in Belarus together with Reporters Without Borders Finland at the media museum Merkki in Helsinki.
